Rosebank Public School is situated in a hilly rural area about 24 kilometres north of Lismore. Rosebank Public School was founded in 1881 to provide schooling for early settlers. While initially a timber region, the area supports various farming endeavours, including coffee, macadamia crops, cattle, and forest regeneration.

Apart from the Public School, other essential services in Rosebank include a general store/post office, a community hall which houses the Rosebank Community Pre-School and various local events, three art gallery’s, and a local bush fire brigade. The community of Rosebank is spread along a ridge between Corndale and Repentance Creek, reaching into rainforest remnants of The Big Scrub, and surrounded by local farming pursuits.

The School itself is located on terraced land with extensive grounds’ development providing amenities for our students, parents and community. A Grounds Committee representing the diverse parent population of our School has a projected 3-year plan, with initiatives central to Environmental Education and related school programs. It has established a multi-purpose hard court with facilities for basketball, handball, hockey, netball and tennis, which also forms an amphi-theatre for school performances; a library/music room; a garden designed to reflect our support for reconciliation; established shade trees; and a canteen operative one day per week.

Rosebank Public School provides an extensive education for children. Basic to their learning is a balanced curriculum enabling future choice for our students: culture; the arts - including video production and music; mathematics; science and technology; computer technology; sound personal development; buddy reading; peer support; and an active Student Council (students managing the interests of their fellow students).
